1,3-Propane sultone is used as a chemical intermediate. No information is available on the acute (short-term), chronic (long-term), reproductive, developmental, and carcinogenic effects of 1,3-propane sultone in humans. In rodents exposed to 1,3-propane sultone via gavage (experimentally placing the chemical in the stomach) and intravenous injection, tumors of the brain and other central nervous system (CNS) tissues have been observed. Leukemia, and tumors of the ear duct, small intestine, kidneys, lung, mammary gland, uterus, and skin have been reported in rodents exposed via gavage, injection, or dermal contact. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified 1,3-propane sultone as a Group 2B, possible human carcinogen.

2D Structure



1,3-PROPANE SULTONE IS PRODUCED COMMERCIALLY BY DEHYDRATING GAMMA-HYDROXY-PROPANESULFONIC ACID, WHICH IS PREPARED FROM SODIUM HYDROXYPROPANESULFONATE. THIS SODIUM SALT IS PREPARED BY ADDITION OF SODIUM BISULFITE TO ALLYL ALCOHOL.

Uses :It is an important chemical intermediates that used as the starting material for many electroplating chemical intermediates, sensitizing dye anionic Gemini surfactants. In addition, it is used intosecondary  lithium ion solution to improve recycling life .

Magnesium Hexafluorophosphate Contact Joyce Luo sales03@chemfish.com www.chemfish.com Mg(PF 6 ) 2 -based electrolytes for Mg-ion batteries have not received the same attention as the analogous LiPF 6 -based electrolytes used in most Li-ion cells owing to the perception that the PF 6 – anion decomposes on and passivates Mg electrodes.  No synthesis of the Mg(PF 6 ) 2  salt has been reported, nor have its solutions been studied electrochemically. Here, we report the synthesis of the complex Mg(PF 6 ) 2 (CH 3 CN) 6  and its solution-state electrochemistry.  Solutions of Mg(PF 6 ) 2 (CH 3 CN) 6  in CH 3 CN and CH 3 CN/THF mixtures exhibit high conductivities (up to 28 mS·cm –1 ) and electrochemical stability up to at least 4 V vs Mg on Al electrodes.
